I just read an article that Robert Pattinson is being considered for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire. This cannot be allowed to happen! Let me tell you why.

He’s a good actor but he does not fit the part

I like the guy. I really do but I don’t want him going anywhere near my beloved Hunger Games. I think he’s a decent actor and I’d love to see him in stronger roles than what he’s been playing but he is not at all what I picture when I think of Finnick Odair.

If you’ve read the second installment of The Hunger Games series Catching Fire then you know who Finnick Odair is and have a pretty good idea of what he looks like. If you haven’t read it, get off my blog and go read it.

Go ahead, I’ll wait…

Welcome back! Now that you’re up to date, you know that Finnick Odair is described as being tall, muscular and athletic, with golden skin, bronze-colored hair, and seafoam green eyes. Yes, I know in Twilight Stephanie Meyer described Edward as having bronze-colored hair but Finnick has a tan and doesn’t sparkle so it’s totally different.

Do not associate Twilight with The Hunger Games

To me, The Hunger Games is on a whole different level than Twilight. The Hunger Games is smarter with deeper undertones. It shows us what our world could become if our obsessions with reality television and violence are taken to the extreme. Twilight just encourages young girls to give up everything to be with their high school boyfriend.

It’s ridiculous to think that people have compared the two. There is no comparison which is why Robert should just sit this one out.

There is no place in the arena for Sparkly Vampires

Ok yes, vampires would stand a fantastic chance of surviving in the arena. With their speed, strength, and ability to smell blood vampires are a sure win. Maybe not Edward though.

I mean, with his sparkly skin he wouldn’t be able to hide very well. He doesn’t hunt humans and the biggest animals in the arena are squirrels so he would probably starve. On top of all that he has a bad habit of falling in love with young girls and then becoming suicidal if they are put in danger so he would probably off himself before the games even began.

Would you want Robert Pattinson to be in The Hunger Games?
