Archives For Katie Baker

So it’s my birthday tomorrow and it’s usually around this time of year that I get to thinking about all I haven’t accomplished in my life and all that I want to. So I decided to jump on the bandwagon this year and write out my bucket list.

The problem I have is that the standard bucket list fare of traveling, skydiving, and running a marathon all seem great but well, kind of ordinary. If you’re like me and you love the silly, whimsical, and random things in life then be sure to add these to your bucket list.

So here we are, diving head first into 2013. As if we had a choice right?! By now we all expected to have Back To The Future style hover boards, flying cars, food in pill form, and monkies ruling the planet. We’re almost there with that last one but for the most part this “future” we’re living in is mildly disappointing.

So, I figure since we haven’t gotten the things we want how about we get rid of the things we don’t need. Ya know, for the betterment of mankind and all that.

Macedonia Films is very new and very small but we have had what we consider to be some very big moments this year. These moments may not seem like successes to other big name film companies but we believe it’s these small moments that are shaping us, teaching us, and guiding us. Paying our dues has never been so much fun!

I know that everyone has been practically soiling themselves in excitement as the opening weekend of The Hobbit draws near but I’m here to tell you a couple of excellent reasons why it would be in your best interest hold out just a bit longer. I mean really people, it’s just a movie based off one of the greatest stories ever told. It’s just been made by one of the greatest directors of our generation. It just has the wonderful Martin Freeman playing Bilbo Baggins. Meh, I say.

Two Bad Guys You Hate To Love

Katie Baker —  November 29, 2012

I like to think that I am an all around good person. I was raised to care for others above myself, to obey the law, to never do harm to anyone, and to believe that the wicked should be punished and justice served. These values are so deeply rooted in who I am that to cheer for someone doing something evil despite their motives behind it feels so wrong. Yet the following characters are two of my favorites and I grow more afraid with every episode that they will get caught and have to pay for their crimes. Allow me to explain.

Black Friday Survival Tips

Katie Baker —  November 15, 2012

It’s that wonderful time of year again. A time of giving thanks, being with family, and beating the crap out of anyone who stands in the way of you getting the must have toy of the year. Only in America do we spend an entire day giving thanks for all that we have and then fight to the death to save a few bucks on things we don’t need the very next day. It takes strength and dedication to brave the terror of the most blackest of days. Follow these 4 simple guidelines and you might make it out alive… Maybe.

It’s finally here! The final installment of the Twilight Saga will be released in theaters November 16th, 2012. Breaking Dawn Pt 2 is supposed to be the epic finale we have all been waiting for but for those of us who remember the end of the book would not exactly describe it as epic. Basically the bad guys show up to kill the good guys, they talk it out, settle their differences, and then just go home. The end. Yea, you don’t get a spoiler alert here. If you haven’t read the book it’s your own fault.

So for those of you that have already begun lining up at the theater to get your tickets or for those who just want a good laugh, here are my top 4 1/2 favorite Twilight spoofs for your viewing pleasure.

So, who here knows who Gary Oldman is? I’ll give you a hint. He’s in nearly every movie ever made. Still not ringing a bell? How about Sid & Nancy, Henry & June, Dracula, The Fifth Element, Air Force One, Lost in Space, The Dark Knight, and Harry Potter just to name a small few?

How is it possible that this one man has been in some of the biggest movies in the world. and yet the world does not know who he is? I have a couple of theories on this:

Best of Halloween 2012

Katie Baker —  October 25, 2012

As a kid Halloween was a time to dress up like a Princess or Spider-Man or Princess Spider-Man, stay up past your bedtime, and go take candy from strangers. But then we grow up and put such childish things behind us. Now Halloween is about dressing up like a slutty bunny and dodging projectile vomit from your friendly neighborhood drunken zombies… because we’re adults and that’s how it’s done. WRONG!!!

It is 2012 people and we are so much more than a slutty zombie bunny. We are brilliant, creative, original, and hilarious. Let me show you what I’m talking about. Continue Reading…

Everybody shut up! Shut up, Lutz! I have a very important question to ask you. Betcha can’t guess what it is… Hint, it’s in the title. That’s right folks, it’s time to end the age-old debate once and for all. Is going to the movies alone a sad, lonely, and embarrassing pastime? Or is it a great way to say “screw you and your rules” to society and do what you want?!
