I once asked a film school professor what should be done if you can’t find the right cast for you film. His response shocked me:

Cancel your shoot.

But, he’s right. Without the right cast, even a brilliantly written and produced film will fall flat. And it’s not about good looks or acting talent either. We had over 50 of the best from Memphis and beyond turn up (a few people even drove 2-3 hours for a 15 minute audition), leaving us with a difficult conundrum: which cast members will the best chemistry with each other?

With some input from ARV-3 author Cameo Renae, and associate producer Nely Cab, we boiled down our options until we had a team we were confident moving forward with.

So, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce the cast of ARV-3:

STEPHEN PARK: Blake Staples

Our most experienced cast member, Blake took a risk at auditions by showing us an ex-NASA scientist struggling with the challenges of raising his daughter in a twisted and scorched earth. His interpretation of Stephen is a refreshing break from the tired post-apocalyptic tropes we see in films and TV shows today. Plus, according to Cameo, he’s dead on for how she envisioned Stephen in her mind.

THE ARVY: Shane Christopher Hudson

We met Shane at Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention and were immediately impressed by his passion for cosplay and knowledge of genre films and movie monsters. He’s told us playing a movie monster is a dream come true for him, and we’re honored to be the ones to give him this opportunity.

PS – That’s a photo of Shane’s cosplay, NOT the Arvy. You’ll have to wait a little longer to see that. 😉

FINN ARMSTRONG: Hamid Farzam

Hamid came with a glowing endorsement from Avarice star (and one-time Abi Park) Haley Parker. Despite having to tape his audition and send it in last-minute, Hamid’s charm showed through and won us over. We can’t wait to see our Abi and Finn together on the screen, expect some serious chemistry!

ABI PARK: Brandi Gist

Charming, intelligent, beautiful. Everything you need in a leading lady, right? Brandi came with endorsements from many people we respect in the Memphis film community, and it was easy to see why at her audition. We’re thrilled to be working with Brandi, a picture-perfect Abi if ever there was one.

Stay tuned, folks, this film is just getting started!
