I desperately want to live in a world where impossible dreams can come true. And the more I live in this world, the more I believe that it is entirely possible. I have been reading Michael Hyatt’s book, Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World, and he talks about how writing down your dreams will turn them into goals. And people who write them down are more likely to accomplish their goals.

I’m a list maker by nature. I even have lists for my lists. People have made fun of me for it my entire life, but it’s the only way I ever remember anything or get anything done.

Since I was twelve years old I have been writing down my dreams, and after reading Michael Hyatt’s book, I realized how powerful that statement actually was because many of the dreams I thought were impossible have actually come true for me.

Have you ever been introduced to a celebrity and found that there is a very thin line between being a fan and being a stalker? Well, I have. And I’m not really sure how it happened.

I am completely the same because for some reason, I think that if I can’t accomplish something on my first try, I must be doomed for failure. Even though we might know that the “right” expectation is to make a lot of mistakes on your first attempt, somehow that sneaky little expectation for perfection creeps back into our heads.

For me, I thought that the first time I made a film would be the most incredible experience in the world, and people would see it and think that I could really be something some day. Then I made my first film, and all those thoughts just went flying out the window. Continue Reading…

Peter Jackson is one of the best director’s of our generation, in my opinion. His films have ranged from indie slasher flicks to elegantly delivered epics. Although not all of his movies may seem similar, they all have one characteristic that unites them: a brilliantly executed story. But I think what makes his films so compelling is the man behind the movies, and I definitely think his life of filmmaking can be used to offer a budding filmmaker some guidance. Continue Reading…
