August marks big changes at Macedonia Films and the Fall is looking fantastic. Avarice premieres in November, we have BIG plans for the Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention, and our first couple feature-length projects are well underway.

OK, so I just saw the full trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman, and at first glance it looks great! I would typically be really excited about this film, but Kristen Stewart is playing Snow White. I just don’t understand what Hollywood sees in this girl. So, I’ve read that the The Hunger Games franchise is slated to be the next Twilight and my first thought was “oh please God noooooo!” The last thing the world needs is another Twilight and I’m speaking as a fan. I devoured the Twilight series and fell in love with the characters just like everyone else, and like everyone else I could not wait to see my favorite characters come to life on the big screen.

The problem I have with the films however is that not only did they take some serious liberties with the story, they also hired the cast solely based on how pretty they are to look at and not how well they could play the part. This is my fear for The Hunger Games. I’m an even bigger fan of The Hunger Games than I was of Twilight.
